Welcome to Year 4! 

In Year 4, we aim to make your learning fun and educational in a safe and secure environment whilst supporting you to become independent learners. 

Throughout the year, we will have a huge array of lessons from RE, English, Maths, Science and Computing to Music, History, Geography and Art and Design.  

In RE, we will focus on Domestic Church, Baptism and Confirmation, Advent, Community, Eucharist, Lent and Easter, Pentecost, Reconciliation and the Universal Church. In each unit we will explore key vocabulary and scriptures through questioning, activities, music and discussion. 

Within Maths, we will be building upon lots of existing skills and consolidating our learning of our times tables and arithmetic skills. 

For English, we will focus on a wide range of genres which link to our wonderful history and geography topics and support the development of our reading and writing skills. 

Our wonderful topics, such as The Romans, Rainforests, Vikings and Scandinavia, will help us to explore a variety of historical and geographical skills, as well as cross-curricular learning. 

We will also be developing our computing skills across a range of topics which include: Internet safety; coding; animation; and PowerPoints. 

There are also many opportunities in Year 4 for you to develop your creative skills through sporting events, music lessons and art and design.
