St Martin

 

Welcome to Year 4, this year promises to be an exciting one with the children benefiting from studying a range of topics in all areas of the curriculum.

 

In our Learning Journey we will be studying Rainforests, Should we stop eating chocolate and the Romans as well as undertaking a regional Study of Italy, looking at WW2 and the Vikings. In Science the children will look at topics such as ‘In a state’, which focuses on studying states of matter, ‘Good Vibrations’, ‘Switched on’ and ‘Where does all the food go?’ before moving on to look at ‘Human Impact’ and ‘Our changing world’.

 

Throughout the course of the year the Year 4 RE topics will include: Family, Belonging. Advent/Christmas, Community, Relating, Easter, Pentecost, Reconciliation and The World, in addition Year 4 will have the opportunity to study other Religions such as Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism.

 

Year 4 have PE twice a week on a Tuesday and a Friday.

 

Learning Journey Homework is sent out every Friday and is due in the following Thursday.

Spellings and Times tables test take place every Monday and the children undertake a weekly Multiplication Challenge in order to improve their knowledge of all of the tables up to 15.
